Going Lo-No at Tales of the Cocktail

Every July, thousands of visitors from all over the world beat a path to steamy New Orleans for the annual Tales of the Cocktail. As Tales kicks off its 17th year, we look at how the organization evolved recently under new leadership and has a whole new mission.

We begin with Caroline Rosen, who came on board as executive director in 2018. She shares the foundation’s revamped vision and how they are doing more to give back to the spirits and hospitality community.

Then cocktail superstar Don Lee joins us to discuss Tales of the Cocktail’s grants program, which annually, allocates hundreds of thousands of dollars to organizations making a difference. Don’s also one of the industry leaders behind a new trend that has bartenders mixing drinks with little to no alcohol, shifting their focus to flavor. We learn about his Greenwich Village craft cocktail bar, where chef turned mixologist, Bobby Murphy’s creative talents are on display. And finally, we talk with Eddie Simeon and Tobin Ludwig of Hella Cocktail Co. Their new product, canned bitters and soda, has been making a splash as a great mixer and cocktail alternative.

We’re mixing it up on this week’s Louisiana Eats!
